The school day

At Marshland St James we offer a school week of 32.5 hours as set out in Government guidelines.

Schools are required to meet for at least 380 sessions or 190 days during any school year to educate their pupils; and to operate two sessions on every school day which is divided by a break in the middle of the day.

The opening times at Marshland St James Primary and Nursery School are as follows:

School gates open: 8:35 am

School day starts: 8:45 am

Morning break: 10.30 am to 10:45 am

Lunchtime: 12.05 pm to 1.00 pm

School day ends: 3.15 pm
