Marshland St James Primary and Nursery School

"A Member of the Diocese of Ely Multi-Academy Trust"

Moving forward

After much consideration and research, the Governing Body of Marshland St James voted to become an Academy in partnership with the Diocese of Ely Multi Academy Trust (DEMAT). This is a very positive step forward for the school, providing us with an opportunity to make rapid school improvement. The Trust will support the school as we drive for higher standards.

We want this process to be open and informative for everyone involved with Marshland St James. The next steps will be formal consultation with staff, parents, carers and the wider community. This will start after the Easter holidays and further details will be sent out. The process normally takes 3 months and we will aim to be ready for the start of the new academic year in September.

This is a very positive opportunity for our school, our pupils, parents and staff. It will allow us greater choice and flexibility which will give us greater potential to improve. We will get increased support from the Trust, with access to working closely with educational experts and other Trust schools.

If you have any further questions before the formal consultation, please feel free to speak to our Chair of Governors, Sahra van der Velde, a parent governor or myself. Contact details can be obtained from the school office.
